I love those weekend mornings. The ones when I can get behind the wheel — with my camera bag in the passenger seat and my favourite music playlist on shuffle — and drive off without knowing exactly where things will take me.
The morning of March 3rd was a cloudy one with sporadic rain. I decided to head towards the Confederation Bridge, but I had no idea what to expect on the way, or upon arrival.
I’m used to the bridge seemingly extending infinitely into the distance, but on this occasion, it disappeared rather quickly into the fog. And save for a few pieces of ice floating around or gathered around the bridge’s piers, it didn’t look like winter.
The following two photographs were taken from the same vantage point. Despite only capturing a small section of the structure, both images illustrate well how the bridge, regardless of its impressive stature, looks small amidst the sky above and the water beneath it.
Finally, here are a few additional images from my outing.
